Aurora Information Systems Consultants Won the
BEA WebLogic Server 6.0 Developers Contest.

February, 2001

Congratulations to the Aurora team for winning the BEA sponsored WebLogic Server™ 6.0 Developers Contest. The Aurora team, led by Vijay Sivasankaran and consisting of Ajoy Asok, Chris Coy, Eric Slocum, and Ivett Maya, has produced one of the "coolest" feature examples in the form of the InterGalactic Mining Corporation's online ore ordering system.

This Feature Example demonstrates a real world eBusiness application using the new features of BEA WebLogic Server™ 6.0. Some of new features demonstrated by this application are EJBs in a cluster, Mbeans, XML messaging, JMS, JTA and 2PC, Custom security protocol filters, and WAP using the Nokia WAP server.

When notifying Vijay Sivasankaran about being a finalist, Marc Duclos, Field Marketing Manager at BEA Systems said "The judges had a tough time making their final decisions as we received a number of excellent Feature Examples from around the world, so being selected as a finalist is indeed a tribute to your programming skills."

The entire Aurora team attended BEA eWorld, the 6th annual BEA users conference, where over 3,000 conference attendees voted for their favorite feature example.

The InterGalactic Mining Corporation Feature Example has every element that was required to take first prize. The team had taken care to use good programming practices, to use as many new WLS features as possible, and to write code that is self-explanatory and well documented.

Don Marsh, President of Aurora Information Systems, had this to say, "This is an application that others can learn from, and it certainly demonstrates why BEA's WebLogic is the best application server on the market. And, it shows once again that Aurora Information Systems has some of the finest BEA WebLogic consultants in the world!".
